Pezeshkian Reveals Details of Iran’s Response to Trump’s Letter
WANA (Mar 30) – This morning , Masoud Pezeshkian, in a cabinet meeting, outlined details of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s response to the U.S. President’s letter. He announced that the response had been sent to the American side through Oman.
Pezeshkian emphasized that while direct negotiations between the two countries were ruled out in this response, the path for indirect talks remains open. He added that Iran has never shied away from dialogue, and the primary obstacle in this process has been the other party’s breaches of commitments, which need to be addressed to rebuild trust. He further stressed that Iran has always adhered to the principles of diplomacy and remains open to discussions within defined frameworks based on mutual respect.
He continued: “Just as the Islamic Republic of Iran has never closed the path to indirect negotiations, this letter also reiterates this stance. The behavior of the American side will determine the continuation of the negotiations.” Pezeshkian noted that Iran seeks to safeguard national interests and regional security and welcomes any approach that helps achieve these objectives.
Additionally, the President, during this meeting, condemned the crimes of the Israeli regime and stressed the need to put an end to these actions. He stated: “It is unacceptable that, despite the announcement of a ceasefire, the bombing of innocent civilians continues. No honorable human being can accept such inhumane behavior.”
The President also highlighted the role of the international community in halting war crimes, stating that the silence of so-called human rights advocates in the face of these atrocities is unacceptable. He urged international organizations and Islamic countries to take more serious actions in support of the Palestinian people.
He prayed for Muslim nations to stand united and resilient against these actions and emphasized the necessity of a decisive response from the Islamic world to such crimes. He reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to support the oppressed people of Palestine and will utilize all diplomatic and international capacities to put an end to these atrocities.
